I haven’t been taking any sessions over the past few months.  I have been a little busy with this little guy.  Although we thought he would a New Year’s baby, he decided to come on Christmas Day.  What a wonderful gift he was

I have had a lot of inquiries in the past few days about booking photo sessions for the fall or holidays.  I had to take a limited number of sessions for the fall/holidays due to the impending arrival of our new baby in December.  Those sessions are currently all full.  I will be taking a maternity leave at the beginning January, but I should be back up and running when the weather warms back up.  I will likely post just after Christmas with info about booking Spring sessions.  Thanks so much for all your inquiries and support

I recently had the opportunity to photograph the children at my sons preschool. We are so blessed to have found the most wonderful Mothers Day Out program for him at a local church and we have loved being a part of their family for the last three years. The kids there were all so much fun and I now know “what kind of birthday” everyone had last year

Hope everyone had an awesome Easter weekend. We were very busy, but made sure to take some time and just do family stuff. This was the first year we have ever attempted dying eggs together. Someone LOVED their bunny ears they made at school on Thursday and decided he was going to wear them EVERYWHERE for the next two days

Love these photos of newborn baby Mallory. I had the privilege of photographing Mason’s first year, so it was really fun to get to see him in the role of big brother now, almost 2 years later. Watching my clients families grow is one of the things I love so much about what I do. Two years from now baby Mallory might be a big sister herself, and it will be hard to remember how tiny she was and what life was like on those first few days home. The photos will help to tell that story.

Okay, so I told myself I was going to catch up on my blogging while the weather was cold and I had less going on…but of course things have been busier than ever and I still haven’t had the time to sit down and share all my sessions from 2010. We have had so much going on this winter I just haven’t had a free moment. Now the weather is warming up and I am getting super busy again. Here are a few from a family shoot back in the fall. Enjoy

Wanted to share these that I customed framed these from a recent session. Loving the classic look for the client’s home.

Okay, so one of my new year’s resolutions was to keep the blog updated.  And it’s only taken me another 21 days to put up a new post, sooooo…I am really going to have to step it up if I’m going to keep this resolution! One of the ways I want to keep the blog fresh is to feature fun ways to use or display your portraits.  I will also be featuring some of the great products that I have available to help you do this.  The interior designer in me wants all of the amazing photos we capture in your session to be displayed in some way in your home, not sitting in a shoebox under your bed.  Who can enjoy them under there??  The custom portraits we create together can really turn your “house” into a Home. Just buying a large wall print is not the only way to go about this, there are tons of other ways, so that is what I will be devoting these Friday blog posts to.

This first week, I wanted to feature two things:

1.  Custom Frames

Did you know that I do custom framing??  I have a HUGE variety of custom frames available. Everything from formal heirloom quality frames, to the fun, whimsical frames I am featuring today.  The frames pictured below are some of my favorite product offerings. They come in a HUGE variety of colors and have so many fun options like trims, polka dots, stripes, you name it.  The great thing about these frames is that they can be color matched to the decor in the room you plan to display them in, whether it be a baby’s nursery, your children’s playroom, or your family room.

2. Display Ideas

Once you have chosen all those precious pictures and had them framed, how are you going to put them all on the walls?  Being a photographer, I have so many photos, that I can’t always just pick one large photo to hang in a particular space, so I often like to group photos .  Plus, I have lots of fun wall art and other decor that I like to display too.  Here are just a couple of ways I have incorporated our portraits into groupings.

***Okay, so I know some of you are wondering where the adorable John 3:16 painting came from.   I have to give a shout out to Show Offs Art.  I love this company and their paintings with scripture. They are a fun way to accomplish Deuteronomy 6: 5-9.

It is very unusual for us to get so much wintery weather this early here in Middle Tennessee, but we are loving it. It is great to get outside and PLAY!
