Wanted to share these that I customed framed these from a recent session. Loving the classic look for the client’s home.

Okay, so one of my new year’s resolutions was to keep the blog updated. And it’s only taken me another 21 days to put up a new post, sooooo…I am really going to have to step it up if I’m going to keep this resolution! One of the ways I want to keep the blog fresh is to feature fun ways to use or display your portraits. I will also be featuring some of the great products that I have available to help you do this. The interior designer in me wants all of the amazing photos we capture in your session to be displayed in some way in your home, not sitting in a shoebox under your bed. Who can enjoy them under there?? The custom portraits we create together can really turn your “house” into a Home. Just buying a large wall print is not the only way to go about this, there are tons of other ways, so that is what I will be devoting these Friday blog posts to.
This first week, I wanted to feature two things:
1. Custom Frames
Did you know that I do custom framing?? I have a HUGE variety of custom frames available. Everything from formal heirloom quality frames, to the fun, whimsical frames I am featuring today. The frames pictured below are some of my favorite product offerings. They come in a HUGE variety of colors and have so many fun options like trims, polka dots, stripes, you name it. The great thing about these frames is that they can be color matched to the decor in the room you plan to display them in, whether it be a baby’s nursery, your children’s playroom, or your family room.
2. Display Ideas
Once you have chosen all those precious pictures and had them framed, how are you going to put them all on the walls? Being a photographer, I have so many photos, that I can’t always just pick one large photo to hang in a particular space, so I often like to group photos . Plus, I have lots of fun wall art and other decor that I like to display too. Here are just a couple of ways I have incorporated our portraits into groupings.
***Okay, so I know some of you are wondering where the adorable John 3:16 painting came from. I have to give a shout out to Show Offs Art. I love this company and their paintings with scripture. They are a fun way to accomplish Deuteronomy 6: 5-9.
5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. -Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Just wanted to do a quick post thanking everyone so much for your support this past year. This business is truly a blessing to me and my family and I LOVE what I do
I am already plotting the ways I can improve in 2011, and I am very excited about all that I have up my sleeve, including at least 4 (FOUR!!) mini-session events, similar to this one, that I think are going to be a lot of fun. I will likely offer one for spring, summer, and fall, as well as a holiday family photo/card event. Session times will be limited on these, so make sure to subscribe to the blog via the tab on the right, so you can get the info as soon as I post it. I also post all events on my facebook page as well, so if you spend more time on there than in your email (like I do) just become a fan
Again, thank you all SO much for making 2010 such a success. I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.” -Romans 15:13

Also, a big thanks to my boys who spend the entire year looking forward to that special day when I set my tripod up and make them take a half million photos till we get a keeper for the Christmas card….AND for letting me do what I love
Love you guys.

Wow! I just realized that I haven’t updated the blog since November 1st! I have so many sessions that I would love to share, but it gets a little crazy during this time of year, and in an effort not to completely ignore my family, I have to let a few things go. Maybe I can get caught up during the long winter months we have ahead
…Or maybe not! lol
I will share a few from a fun shoot I had with one of my favorite little guys. It’s so much fun for me to get to photograph the same families year after year and watch the kiddos grow up. It’s amazing how much they change from year to year. This is why it is so important to document these years in photos, videos and writing. I think as a parent we realize that they are changing so quickly, but we really don’t think we’ll ever forget how little they once were, the funny things they said, or the stuff they were really into. But I have to admit…WE DO!!! I haven’t been as good as I should be about writing things down myself, but I am always amazed when I look back over the things I have documented and realize, I really had almost forgotten about them. So…got off on a little tangent there, but just remember to document their childhood. Sadly, you will forget! ![]()
It was fun to capture some of the things that make this little one tick right now. Fresh air, riding 4-wheelers, jumping in leaves, swinging, bikes, and his guitar. Here are just a few from his session at home.
